How to Add Candidate Name & Date Stamp on UPSC Photographs

UPSC’s Mandatory Photograph Rule

In recent examination cycles, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) instituted a compulsory requirement across all examinations (Civil Services, NDA, CDS, CAPF, Engineering Services):

"The photograph must not be older than 10 days from the opening of the online application portal. The name of the candidate and the date on which the photograph was taken must be clearly printed at the bottom of the photograph."

How to Generate This in 1 Click

Instead of hiring an expensive photo studio or struggling with complex editing software, you can use our free Passport Photo Maker:

  1. Upload your clear portrait photo.
  2. Type your full name exactly as it appears in your Matriculation Certificate in the Candidate Name field.
  3. Enter the date the photo was captured (e.g. current date or within 10 days) in the Date of Photo field.
  4. The system automatically formats the clean white banner at the bottom with high-contrast text.
  5. Download the JPG file (sized 20 KB to 300 KB) ready to upload to the UPSC OTR portal.
